Case Study: Product and Distribution
An EMEA-based multi-national distributor of consumer packaged goods retained Chesapeake to identify acquisition opportunities to leverage their core business and existing distribution network, and to diversify their holdings.
- Phase I - Global Strategy, Requirements and Acquisition Criteria
The initial phase of the project included evaluating the Client’s existing distribution network, technology, product portfolio, and competitive advantage to develop a clearly defined global expansion strategy, business requirements and target acquisition criteria. The outcome was the Client’s decision to pursue a “targeted” acquisition program.
- Phase II — Acquisition Program Execution
Chesapeake is now in the process of conducting a carefully targeted search to identify potential candidate transactions that fit the agreed-to profile in areas such as product, merchandising and logistics/supply chain management. In conjunction with this program, Chesapeake will work closely with the Client in order to value, negotiate and structure potential transactions.
- Phase III — Post-Acquisition Asset Management Assistance
As transactions are successfully completed and the portfolio of companies expands, Chesapeake will be providing asset management and integration expertise to the Client and its combined-interests.
